We are proud to introduce a 100% recycled rope for almost all of our black rope bracelets. This new recycled rope is extruded from post-consumer and industrial plastics rope and is high in strength and recyclable over and over again.
We want to demonstrate that the fashion and textile industry can respond to the climate crisis in an authentic way by producing products that are sustainably certified, robust and will still last a lifetime.
Global Recycled Standard
Our recycled sailor rope adheres to the Global Recycled Standard, a guaranteed certificate ensuring that recycled products are processed in a more climate-friendly way.
In Fall / Winter ’23 Pig & Hen will introduce 100% recycled rope in almost all navy rope bracelets. To ensure that almost all of our basic models are made of recycled materials. Our goal for the future is to produce the complete range of rope bracelets with 100% recycled materials.
OUR COMMITMENT: BE FAIR, ETHICAL AND RESPONSIBLE
We at Pig & Hen pledge to do our part to create a more balanced world by initiating and maintaining exceptional customer experiences, workplace practices, and environmental alliances. We commit ourselves and our company to this high standard of excellence as members of the international fashion community, as employers, and, frankly, as people who want to see the world become a better place for your children and ours.
Our commitment to excellence begins with designing and hand-crafting our bracelets with expertise, care and precision. Our designers are industry leaders who remain ahead of fashion trends, and our artisans are trained and experienced craftspeople who ensure that each bracelet is triple checked for quality control. Delivered within days of placing an order, our superior quality bracelets are woven from Dutch sailing rope and clasped by marine-grade steel shackles and are sure to last for years to come.
As proud Amsterdam natives, we are loyal to our local communities as well. Offering a helping hand to workers who are transitioning into economic independence, we participate in a Dutch work-placement program that employs and empowers marginalized citizens entering or re-entering the workforce.
Our workforce is comprised of a diverse tapestry of individuals who hail from distinctive backgrounds, races, religions, ages, genders, physical abilities, languages, orientations, cultures and life stories. This adds to our workplace dynamic and ensures that we are as diverse as the customers we serve.
Pig & Hen consistently takes enormous strides towards sustainable fashion practices. We avoid materials that contain harmful ingredients and reduce product waste, such as the use of non-recycled plastics and paper in both our packaging and our office transactions. Most notably, our wooden boxes are made of FSC controlled wood from trees responsibly selected by the Forest Stewardship Council.
